Afternoon in Dehesa

posted Apr 27, 2012, 9:58 AM by Alicia Gallegos Butters
Yesterday afternoon Joe Hartman and I went to Dehesa School District to introduce Google Apps for Education. We spend the first half with the four people who will serve as the Dehesa GAFEAdministrators and the second half of the afternoon with the teachers. It was a busy and productive afternoon. One thing I always love about the training is how enthusiastic the teachers are when we start to show them that the transition to Google is more than just Gmail.  It is so rewarding to watch the teachers start to collaborate on their first Google Document and brainstorm ways they can do this in their classrooms.  When a k-3 teacher has that moment when he or she realizes Google Drawings is a great tool for the little ones I feel as if I have done what I set out to do. This all happened yesterday at Dehesa.  Mrs. Wilson, Dehesa's superintendent, was actively participating during the entire training and leading the charge.Thank you Dehesa for a great afternoon.
